Steffi Langer was born in Frankfurt a.M., Germany in 1982. In 1993 she moved to Atlanta, USA with her family. Her parents have always found art to be very important and put her in various art programs in Germany ever since she was little. When she moved to Atlanta her family knew they would not be able to live in the United States forever and Steffi was fortunate enough that they took every opportunity to travel through the country. She was very impressed with the grand landscapes on their long journeys to the west coast. It was such journey's that inspired her artistic background to grab her father's camera and start taking photographs of rusty cars in the hot desert, old and nearly abandoned towns and the big hills in San Francisco.

In Atlanta she pursued taking classes at the Spruill Center for the Arts outside of school and tried her luck with anything from cartoon drawing classes to ceramic classes. Eventually she made her way to darkroom classes in which she found her love for photography. It was then that Steffi decided to take her photography hobby further and study this subject at University after she graduated from the Atlanta International School with an International Baccalaureate diploma and Bilingual diploma. She was accepted into the photographic program of her first choice University, the University of Westminster in London, UK.

Steffi has finished off her third and final year at the University of Westminster with a BA (Hons) in Photographic Arts. The class's final project exhibition, "Pay and Display," was held from June 26th through June 30th at the Atlantis Gallery of the Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane, London, at which her study of the Costa Blanca region of Spain was shown.
